Amy Chapman lives and works in Brooklyn, New York, creating work inspired by pattern, repetition, and the quiet rhythms of everyday life.
Often exploring imperfection and process, her work draws from the layered routines of motherhood, reflecting an ongoing effort to let go of perfectionism and reconnect with the meditative act of making. Her pieces find meaning in persistence, structure, and subtle variation.
Originally from Ithaca New York, Amy received her BFA in Painting from SUNY Buffalo in 2002. She spent nearly two decades working in the design field, most recently as Chief Operating Officer and Interim Executive Director of AIGA, where she focused on organizational leadership and creative collaboration. She stepped away from this role in 2023 to return to her studio practice.
